Scott and I have raised many children over the years through birth, legal adoption, adoption of the heart, guardianship and foster care. We’ve always loved having a huge family. Having such a big family, we became grandparents at an earlier age. Scott was okay being called Papa, but I wasn’t ready to be called Grandma. My kids came up with ‘JuJu’ since my name is Julie. Once my first grandbaby was born though, it didn’t matter what she called me. 😊

Raising a large family while running several other business ventures kept us busy. We owned a coffee shop in Old Town Clovis and had no intentions of opening up a restaurant. However, when a restaurant space opened up closeby in 2013, we got excited about the possibilities. We’ve always loved Old Town and thought we could do something special!

I made a quick phone call to my son Justin and said, “I have a wild hair! What can we do with this space?” He immediately said, “Gourmet burgers all the way Mom!” Justin had the restaurant concept and menu started in just a few days.

The family came together to decide on a meaningful name that people would remember. The kids said, “Why not House of JuJu? You know, like coming to grandmas house!” A few short weeks later, we opened the doors to the original  House of JuJu restaurant in Clovis.

Today, with multiple locations, we are so grateful to have expanded our family, from our guests to our employees.  Our hearts desire has always been to make a difference in the lives of others, even if it's just by simply spreading kindness. We’ve been blessed to have huge support from our local community, family, and friends along with fantastic teams of people. You are why House of JuJu exists!
